Haller Park is a nature park in Bamburi Mombasa, Formally known as Bamburi Nature Trail. It is the transformation of a quarry wasteland into an ecological area. Haller Park holds a variety of plant and animal species which serve as a recreation spot for tourists and locals. Up to March 2007 it held the attraction of Owen and Mzee – the friendship of a hippopotamus and a tortoise.

You will be picked from your hotel of residence
either in Diani or Mombasa then before
departure you’ll be briefed on your Animal
Experience and embark on your half a day tour.

You will then drive to Haller Park, which is a
home to wild animals, different species of birds
and other tropical flora. Eland, buffalos,
crocodiles and other reptiles can also be seen
wandering with crowned cranes. Other
attractions in the park include porcupines,
peacocks, a snake park, fish farm, crocodile farm,
giraffes, zebras, famous giant tortoises, hippos.

The diversity of vegetation is considerable, from
mangrove palms and majestic indigenous shade
trees to coastal forests where several of these
plants are rare and endangered; a haven for
botanist. Yet each plant plays an important role
in the overall harmony of the ecosystem. Enjoy
the nature walk and get to see animals being fed
